Place: ComedySportz Los Angeles

Los Angeles County is awash with comedy clubs, so what makes this one different? Well, it isn’t stand-up, but “competitive improv”. It’s also “clean”. (There’s a foul if anyone is foul.) And it’s cheap (call ahead for a discount), free parking is available, and it makes me laugh.

Underneath the tourist-trap schlock was a temple to the Spirit of the West. The Flying W always reinvented itself, but never lost it’s tradition of commitment to hard work, family values, tasty food, and Western (not Country) music. Like the phoenix, it will surely rise again.
